Poll of the month - Moro or Mars?
Welcome to Anyware Insights. We are discovering that in these 'fluid' times the ability of a small business to adapt quickly is a decided advantage over the big players.

In this issue we look at email options and how to set up your email to advertise YOUR business.
Email Spam, what to do...

Email spam is unwanted or unsolicited email. It has become an unnecessary evil in our mailboxes.

Spam is a growing 'business' and evolving all the time making it very difficult to keep up with. Most email providers will protect against as much as they can but here are a couple of things that you can do to protect yourself:
  • Install a good anti-virus system on your computer that protects your email
  • Don't share any personal information in an email - emails are highly unsecure and can be read by anyone who really wants to
  • Never open an email from someone you don't know or you think is unsafe
  • Don't open an attachment from an unknown email address
You can easily protect yourself against spam if you take some simple precautions. Read here for a full list of tips. If you require further information on preventing email spam, please contact us and we'll give you a hand.
Why change my 'from' email address...

We help many news businesses register their domain name and set up email. The last step of this process is to change the 'from' address that you use to send email.

This is one of the most important steps in the process and one of the most beneficial for your business.

You're in business now, and you want people to see your brand or business name every time you send an email (not the brand name of your ISP). So you want your email address to look like this: sales@anyware.co.nz.

So instead of advertising the name of your ISP (eg xtra or gmail) in your email address, you're advertising your own name.

Having your business name in your 'from' address will also increase the chance a client will open your mail when they see it from a trusted source and not a random (possibly spam) email address. Read the full article here:

Food for thought ...

When one door closes another opens. But often we look so long so regretfully upon the closed door that we fail to see the one that has opened for us.

Here's what she had to say:
"I was nervous about having a website made as I didn't know much about them, but you all made it so 'unscarey'! Kim, Liz and Mike have been so friendly, helpful, informative and communicated everything every step of the way. I don't think that you need my services as a customer service trainer, you are all wonderful! I would definitely recommend Anyware to any of my friends and family."
